Exhalation: Stories by Ted Chiang

Have you seen the movie Arrival? The one with Amy Adams and Hawkeye... sorry, Jeremy Renner? That one, a wonderful story that blends some of my favourite things (science-fiction and language), was based on a short story by Ted Chiang, from a different collection. This is a new set of stories, all as different as can be. Naturally, it's hard to rate a collection of stories, since some will be better than others. Overall very original stuff though and some get the mind racing the way only the best sci-fi can. The story about the machine that allows you to communicate with an alternate version of you is another sci-fi blockbuster waiting to happen. GET IT DONE HOLLYWOOD.
