Review 15: The Underground Railroad

The Underground Railroad The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A fantastic, harrowing read which, at least in writing, has been the most gruesome and gripping account of slavery I've experienced. Though lacking in character development (the main character remains a bit flat throughout), it doesn't lack in scathing criticism, great dialogue and exciting scenes. A definite must-read for anyone looking to learn more about some of the blackest pages of US history.
