Review 14: Het Achterhuis

Het Achterhuis Het Achterhuis by Anne Frank
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What can be said about this book that hasn't been said already? The story of a young Jewish girl, hiding in Amsterdam during WW2 with her family and a few others. The mundanity of her story is offset by the knowledge of her undoubtedly terrible end, which makes it all the more worthwhile. Filled with a sometimes difficult to grasp mix of angsty teenage problems and harrowing considerations of the war, the fate of her people and herself, but in the end, filled with hope. A worthy read.
