My rating: 4 of 5 stars
A fun sci-fi romp. Scalzi is not known for his high-minded science fiction are rather uses it as a vehicle to drive a character-driven plot that involves science-fiction elements, than push the envelope in thinking about the future of humankind. Nothing is terribly original here, but if that is not what you expect going in, you will probably enjoy it.
It's like pie (what Scalzi himself apparently likes so much). It's fun and tasty, don't expect it to fix your problems.
